Positive Parenting

What do we all want for our children? To grow up into healthy, honest, capable, contributing adults. And athletics can be the perfect venue for this. It can be a place where they develop skills, fitness, team work, self-confidence and sportsmanship in a fun environment full of friends and future friends.

Unfortunately, not every youth sports environment is healthy for every child. But I believe there is a place for every child of every ability to play and develop. The key for a parent is to find this place for his/her child. How? You know your child best. Wait until your child is ready for organized sports, be realistic about his ability level, know what to look for in a coach and a team (sometimes you might be the best coach), be positive and motivating at all times, monitor your child for signs of overtraining and burnout.

Our mission at Fit2Finish is keeping kids in the game because they learn so much more than sports on the athletic field.
